Operatives attached to the FCT Joint Task Force on COVID 19 restriction of inter-state movement team, posted at FCT-Kogi boundary in Abaji, intercepted a truck containing one hundred and seventy-four (174) bags of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana also known as Indian hemp.
The Chairman of the Task Force and Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Bala Ciroma while inspecting the recovered exhibits at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki, lauded the operatives for their vigilance. He also urges them to sustain the pace. The intercepted truck was transporting illicit drugs from Auchi (Edo state) to Zamfara state.
The suspects used tiles to cover the illicit drugs from being discovered by security operatives.
The suspects arrested are Muktar Abdullahi, Umar Adamu, Saidu Mohammed, and Lawali Suleiman all male.
Meanwhile, following the directive by the Commissioner of Police FCT, the arrested suspects and the exhibits recovered have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.
